It’s been a busy time here at Giftster! We’ve been talking to members, working in our programming lab, and testing and re-testing all our new ideas. We’re happy to announce that all of these new features and fixes are live and available to use right now, just in time for the 2012 holiday gift giving season.

NEW! Gift preference profile
Never forget a size or color preference again. List makers can now list clothing sizes, favorite colors, hobbies, and even what not to give in their gift preference profile. And don’t forget to update your profile as well to help out the gift givers in your group. Located under My Lists.
NEW! Send wish list reminders with one click
Ever look at someone’s gift registry and they don’t have what store the item can be bought at listed? Or you’d like to give a gift but they haven’t updated their list since last season? Click the reminder email link at the bottom of their list to instantly send them a reminder email, anonymously for intrigue or you can choose to add your name.
IMPROVED: Updated iPhone app and mobile giftster site
Mobile Giftster is better than ever! Our app is updated to work on iPhone 5 as well as iPhone IOS6. Updates are available the Apple app store. And not to worry – our mobile site (http://m.giftster.com) is updated with all these snazzy new features as well for Android, Galaxy and other smart phones. My favorite part of mobile Giftster is that you can take your shopping list and gift preferences with you so if you’re in a store and see something that just screams “buy me for Aunt Sue,” I can look her up in my group and see if what I’m looking at aligns with her gift preferences.
Oh – and if you have an iPad or tablet computer, Giftster.com works great on its own. It’s the perfect thing to take with to those functions to make sure everyone is set up in the family gift registry for the holiday season.
NEW! Make your gift list private, shared or public
Previously, you had two choices for publishing your wish list: private (for your viewing only) and shared (the list that is shared with your group). Now, there’s a third option – public. Public lists are available to be viewed and shopped by anyone who searches on your name or email address. This is ideal for bridal shower and wedding registries, a baby shower registry, or even a teacher classroom wish list. To mark items as reserved or purchased, list viewers will need to set themselves up with a Giftster account so the items they’re marking can be placed on their personal shopping list.
UPDATED! Better member search
Finding your family and friends on Giftster is now easier than ever. Go to the member search and type in either the name or email address of the person you’re looking for. Click on the name of the member to see the groups they belong to and their public lists. You can view the member’s public lists and even request membership to their groups.
UPDATED! Better online shopping list
We’ve done a complete overhaul of the shopping list feature giving you more details to print or use with mobile devices. Now you can print your shopping list complete with item description, quantity, price, and the store where you can purchase it. If you’re using the shopping list from your mobile phone, you can mark items purchased or release them back to being available on the wish list.
REMINDER: You can sign into Giftster with Facebook Connect
You can log into your Giftster account with your Facebook login. Go to the login page and click the “Connect with Facebook” button. You can also invite family and friends to Giftster through Facebook once logged in.
REMINDER: Update your birthday in Giftster
Don’t forget that Giftster is an anytime service and available for your birthday as well as your holiday or Christmas gift registry. Log in to Giftster and click on “Settings” to update your birthday in our system. We’ll remind you a month or so before to update your birthday gift registry. Make sure your family has their birthdays updated as well so you can receive reminders for their days as well.
