Now that the holiday gift-giving season is over and the new year is drawing near, it’s a good time to reconcile what you received with your wish list to have everything fresh for 2011.
If you’ve received something off of your Giftster list, it’s best to remove it so you can keep your list tidy and up to date.
One of my favorite things about Giftster is that it’s an any time application. Any time I think that something may be nice to have, I’ll add it to one of my many Giftster wish lists in my account.
In particular, I have 7 wish lists. I know – that sounds excessive, but if you like to be uber-organized like me, there is a purpose for this.
It all started with books. I love books, and there are many that I would still like to have. The books took over my original wish list, so I made a separate one for books.
Then came charities that I like. I have some family members who like to give donations as gifts which I think is one of the best gift ideas. So I made a separate list for the charities that are close to my heart.
Next came a list for my favorite hobby: crocheting. There are some random tools that I would like, so I list those separately as well. Most times, gift givers in my life will most likely not shop off this list, but it helps me stay organized with what I’d like to have.
I also have separate wish lists for DVD’s I’d like (mostly TV box sets) and gift certificates (some in my life prefer to give gift certificates as well).
Then, I have my main wish list. This is the list where people usually look first. In there, I have references to the other lists in my account where people can get a little more specific with their shopping. For instance, I have an item listed that says “a book off of my book wish list.” I don’t expect someone to give me all the books on that list, but just one would be a swell gift.
Start the 2011 gift giving and receiving year off on the right foot. Tidy up your Giftster list and organize it so you can use it all year round!
