Put Updating Your Gift Wish List on Your Thankgsgiving To Do List

Thanksgiving is next Thursday.  There’s no better day to remind your family and friends to update their Giftster wish list so you know what to look for when you start shopping on Friday.  Or, if you’re the techie in your family like me, taking the opportunity to update the wish lists for members of your family who don’t go online.

Thanksgiving is your chance to also get those family members who have been putting off creating their Giftster list to take a look and try it out.  Maybe if you show them how you do it, they’ll say “hey, that’s cool – let me try!”

That’s kind of what happened to my friend’s family.

It all started for them two years ago when I told my friend Katie about Giftster.  She thought it sounded like a great idea so she took a look and was very excited to start using it.

Katie invited her family to use it.  At first, she only had two takers: her dad, Dan, and her brother, Kris.  They used it for the holiday season, and found it to be incredibly useful.

The next year, Katie got an early start to her list-making, and she reminded Dan and Kris to update their lists.  After suggesting it many times to her mom, Mary, she also decided to log on and create a list.  Quickly, Mary discovered why the others liked Giftster so much, and decided to keep her list updated for holidays and other gift-giving events.

There was one family member who was still resistant: Caryn.  She’s a very busy mother of 4 whose time is quite occupied and if I correctly recall, she just didn’t think she had time to take a look.

Just recently, Caryn expressed to Mary that she was at a loss as to what to give Katie this year for Christmas.  Mary’s response: “Check Katie’s Giftster list – she keeps it updated all year round.”

Finally, Caryn decided to take a look.  After discovering how simple and easy it was to use, she, too, created a Giftster account for herself.

Now, Katie has her entire family set up on Giftster, and she’s getting ready to make her holiday shopping list.  One of the features her family likes best is that they can mark off an item that they purchased so that no one else buys it for that person.  And the best part — the list maker won’t know!

This is a common family experience.  It usually only takes one person to get the ball rolling, and before you know it, you’re able to look for great gifts to give.

So set yourself a reminder – maybe between the turkey dinner and pumpkin pie dessert – to make sure your family is set with their Giftster wish lists.  It will make getting through the stores during the holidays much easier!
